So i recently built me my new pc and i've still got some things to transfer from my old pc.
Due the size of some of them i was just going to stick the old HDD in but it's a boot drive so is there anything i should be wary off.
I was going to stick them both in and make sure my new pc drive is higher up the boot list than the current one. Would that work ok and i could then browse through the old hdd at my lesiure copying and pasting and one i've finished format it to use on my new pc.
Just keep the boot order in the BIOS correctly and it doesn't matter if ALL the drives are boot drives, it will load the first one.

Might need some partition software like Acronis Disk Director, I am sure there are also free alternatives available.
There should be no need for third-party utilities - just fire up a command prompt and issue the command "diskpart". Then enter "list disk", which will display all the physical drives in your system, followed by "select disk x" (where x is the old HDD).
Finally enter the command "clean", but be VERY careful you've selected the right disk, as this will delete *all* information on the drive - data, partition table, the whole lot.
Exit diskpart, and you should then be able to go into disk management and partition/format the drive as normal (it will tell you the drive needs to be initialised before use, so just hit "yes"). Job done.
