Shuttle and on-board video problem
Hi guys
Having a little trouble with the on-board video on my Shuttle ST20G5. My main graphics card is an ATI 3850 which is fine. I've never used the on-board video up until last night after picking up a couple of additional monitors. Only thing is I can't get a signal from either the VGA or DVI outputs from the on-board video. If I enable 'Surroundview' the system will not POST, and if I remove the graphics card the system will not POST. I can't find a BIOS option that explicitly enables or disables the on-board video, although I have to assume it's currently disabled since the OS (Server 2008 x64) hasn't detected it.
I'm a bit stumped. Cleared the CMOS several times (necessary after enabling Surroundview), not having any luck at all. Can anyone think of anything else I could try before I take the monitors back?
Cheers :)
Re: Shuttle and on-board video problem
Unless you get one of the expensive Matrox multi monitor adaptors then I cannot think of anything else!!
I assume that you are running more than two monitors as your HD3850 has at least two monitor outputs?!
Re: Shuttle and on-board video problem
Thanks, yes I have two devices on the 3850 (32" TV and 20.1" TFT) but I'm doing more development work at home so the extra screen space either side of the 20.1 would be useful. In theory the Shuttle is capable of this, but as per my previous Shuttle it seems to have been let down by reliability. I know it's quite old now but I didn't really want to replace it just yet!
Re: Shuttle and on-board video problem
I am a Shuttle user too!!:) I currently have an SN41G2 V2 and a SD37P2. My two main issues with Shuttles are the fact they can be quite noisy and also their RAM issues!!
I would have a look at the Matrox adaptors:
