    Recommend Me Sound Card

    hey guys,
I'm about to buy a pair of Acoustic Energy M 2.1 speakers from ebuyer. Atm I have a pair of 5.1 logitechs although vista can only give me 2.0 through them I'm guessing because of my onboard sound drivers. So I'm about to buy a new sound card to go with my new speakers. I'm looking at this Asus D2X sound card as looking at reviews this is one of the best, although it seems quite expensive and seeing as I can barely justify 120 for the speakers I was hoping someone could recommend something cheaper, or if this sound card is as good as the reviews state then persuade me this is the one to go for... cheerz...

TBH I would get the best sound card you can afford. It will last you for years.

You can get the Asus Xonar D2 for around £90 delivered:

    http://www.ebuyer.com/product/136260

Of course the cheaper Xonar models are also pretty decent for around £60 delivered:

Here is a review comparing the DX and D2X:

The D1 and D2 are the PCI versions of the soundcards.

looking at that review i'm thinking the DX would be the best card to go for as its 40 quid less then the D2X and not too much difference... cheers for that
