How long have you owned your Core2duo based set-up?
What a Design the Conroe CPU is! I Haven't upgraded my CPU since November 2007. This PC seems to be super quick still, I can't even justify going quad core.
How long have you had your core 2 duo based Pc for? I think Intel has a problem as it seems people aren't willing to upgrade old systems yet.

Re: How long have you owned your Core2duo based set-up?
I've had mine since june 07, and i don't have any problems running most things. have upgraded my gfx card, ram and hdds since then. but the cpu is running quick enough for me to not even think about upgrading yet.

I upgraded my e6600 with a Q6600 about 16 months ago. I have had the same motherboard since about 2006

Well my C2D laptop was bought in August 2007.
Can't remember when I built my AM2 HTPC though, pretty sure it was before that.
edit yup, bought my 4200+ EE in November 2006, just as it was released. Replaced the motherboard and graphics as one of them from the original build had died and I wanted PCI-e anyway.

Isn't that motherboard based on the 975X chipset? I think Intel has really done well, After the Pentinum 4 Netburst design. They could only go forward!
Re: How long have you owned your Core2duo based set-up?

Re: How long have you owned your Core2duo based set-up?
I built my first socket 775 PC in January 2008, only just getting round to 1336 now
Re: How long have you owned your Core2duo based set-up?
E6600 back in March 07, OC to 3.0GHz. Pro :)
Next upgrade will probably be after early 2010, when the 6 core Corei7 comes out. :p
Re: How long have you owned your Core2duo based set-up?
Over two years on my 3.2ghz E6600..best processor i have owned. Fingers crossed!
Re: How long have you owned your Core2duo based set-up?
Built my e6750 build as a gradual improvement from my athlon 3000 around Dec 07, upgraded bits and bobs since then but kept the processor the same.
I'll probably upgrade to a Qxxx quadcore maybe around christmas time this year, hopefully prices will have come right down.
Re: How long have you owned your Core2duo based set-up?
My old desktop (old = one year lol - built March-April '08) is now my dad's with a Q9450 at 3.7Ghz. Very good but couldn't pass up a deal on the i7 965 I had
Re: How long have you owned your Core2duo based set-up?
Got my current setup just after Christmas, well worth the cash.
Re: How long have you owned your Core2duo based set-up?
A Core2Duo? What's that?
We're still making do with a Centrino laptop, a dual core Athlon 64, an Atom netbook and a Celeron D (which, despite only having an ATI X300, still runs Sims 2 quite nicely thank you very much).
Pffffft! Core2 ... whatever next? :)
Re: How long have you owned your Core2duo based set-up?
Got my T7200 29 months ago, my X3350 13 months ago, my T8300 11 months ago.
All still working regularly at 100% load weeks at a time.
Didn't own any of the Core2Duo desktop chips ever though. Didn't see the point having a desktop chip while the laptop chip have the same speed and use 1/4 the power.
