    Ion-based netbook?

I'm not sure if it is Ion or an intermediary, but scan is now showing the Asus N10J-HV011E on it's site, having Atom N270 and NVidia 9300M chipset. If this is the long-awaited Ion netbook, then a lot of people are going to be disappointed at the price: over £480!!

The N10 has been around for ages with a slightly lesser graphics card, these are dedicated cards though as I recall, not ION based. I expect Ion laptops to be inline with current netbook prices tbh, perhaps slightly more.

fair enough - I wasn't sure if this was the chipset or just the discrete card. I just stumbled across it trying to decide what the best way to replace my fritzed Compaq would be. Can't imagine why anyone would want to bother with a netbook with discrete graphics card though - talk about throwing your money away...

Actually plays games reasonably well.. but yes very expensive for what it offers in performance.

    Re: Ion-based netbook?

I like the fact that the machine exists and thats awesome but I don't really know who they are really selling this to. I don't think that there really is a market for a netbook with a graphics card in it, especially at that price point.
