Re: Antec P180 Mini and ASUS M3A78-EM 780G

Each of the pins has a name on it. Your moterboard will have come with an asus Q-connect which will have coresponding names on it, plug them in (red wire = + so put the HDD LED cable in first then put all the others the same way round) into the Q connect. Then the Q-connect can only be plugged in one way onto the motherboard front panel pins.

If in doubt the manual has an explanation.

The motherboard manual will have detailed diagrams about connectors like this. Just connect the cables with the appropriate labels to the corresponding headers.

USB are usually blue headers (on asus boards) if they are colour coded.

down the left hand side of this picture, you can see three of them

You can download the manuals from asus and antec websites - you should be able to work out what to shove where from them.

Re: Antec P180 Mini and ASUS M3A78-EM 780G

I find it hard to believe that the P180 Mini has anything other than a standard USB connector on its front USB ports, in which case it simply slips onto the appropriate header on the motherboard: these will be labelled in the manual something like USB56. The connector from the case should have one hole filled (this is the "key"), and the motherboard header should have the corresponding pin missing, so you can only connect the header one way round.

On each of the motherboard headers the USB wire colours starting nearest the back of case should be RED,WHITE,GREEN, BLACK.

Some USB plugs have them reversed from side to side which wont work with this motherboard.

Yes, case connectors labeled 'USB' go into blue USB sockets. They're even keyed, so you don't accidentally connect a firewire connector. Can't go wrong. Again, if in doubt, read the friendly manual.
