    Overclock/CPU-Z Question

    Hi,

Just been reading through clunk's oc guide for the P5K + Q6600 (the board and CPU I have)

Have got clock speed up to around 3.25Ghz by increasing FSB

System seems stable, no hangs or anything

However, in CPU-Z the clock multiplier keeps flicking between 6 and 9?

Why is this? I'm sure it didn't do this before when my clock speed was around 2.88. Do I just need to keep adjusting it until it stops doing this?

This is speedstep. When your system is under less load speedstep reduces the multiplier in order to reduce power consumption of the CPU. If this annoys you or the transition time is noticeable to you, consider turning it off in the BIOS.
