    New Digicam / TV Card

I'm looking to spend ~£100 on a new digital camera, and around £50 on a TV-card (less would be better - it doesn't need to be the bees knees, just capable of recording tv to hard disk fairly well)

I've got no idea what's best in either category, so if anyone's got any specific recommendations for either, then I'd be grateful for your advice.

We'll, I'd presume it depends on how you get your cable - if it uses an aerial cable to link the cable decoder to your telly you could link it straight to the tv card, and record it as usual - you'd need to pre-select the channel on the decoder though. If it uses scart to link to your telly, there's probably some cunning way of converting it and then recording.
