    Bottleneck, do I has one?!

    Hey guys,

Just wondering if my system (on the left) has a bottleneck, as L4D and TF2 seems to be running rather gingerly on my pc for some odd reason. Haven't changed anything but the video drivers, from CCC 9.2 to 9.3.

    Thanks
    ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I'd suggest starting with an overclock of the E6600.

Nothing too wacky, but you should be able to get it to 3ghz rather easily, more if you've got a decent cooler on it.

TBH neither of those games are exactly Crysis, none of your components should break too much of a sweat. If you've just changed the video drivers that would be my first port of call.

Move up to the 9.4 drivers, the 9.3 drivers have been giving a lot of bad results. Happy Gaming!

Re: Bottleneck, do I has one?!

Yeah, no obvious bottleneck there. Drivers first - they're always a good start if you've just changed them! I'd roll back the drivers then set a restore point before upgrading to 9.4 personally, to make it easier to get back to the 9.2 set that were working OK...

Just oc a little and see if any increase in performance. DO you have the multicore rendering on?

All looks good. Presume you aren't gaming at any mad resolution or have all the AA options set to the max? Otherwise it's an OC on the CPU and driver updates.

Re: Bottleneck, do I has one?!

I was going to say, I doubt that either game is really taxing that HW, I would try drivers first,
But OCing that e6600 is the next port of call.
