Best Laptop For ~£450 (Toshiba Satellite Pro A300-1RR?)

Hi, Im looking for the best laptop for around £450. I really dont want to go over £500.
Need the screen to be 15.4" and not 17" to keep the laptop small enough to carry around easily, and below 3.2kg so it isnt too heavy . Dont really need it to be as small as a netbook though, 15.4" is fine.
Im not going to be playing games on it so graphics card doesnt really matter much.

Ive done a bit of research and have come down to the Toshiba Satellite Pro A300-1RR for £460:
    http://www.ebuyer.com/product/158358

    Its a Core 2 Duo T6400 2GHz, 250GB HDD, 3GB RAM, 15.4" TFT, DVD±RW, Vista Home Premium, 2.72kg, 3hrs battery life.

I was just about to order, but thought I would check here first to make sure Im not overlooking anything.

Does this seem like a good deal?

Are there any other laptops that you would recommend over this?

    Thanks

If you want to carry the notebook about I would be looking at a notebook with 13.3" or 12.1" screen TBH.

These look good for the money:

Re: Best Laptop For ~£450 (Toshiba Satellite Pro A300-1RR?)

A couple of weeks ago Argos had the Samsung R610 on special offer at £499.99, sadly it has since gone back up in price to £549.99

Might be worth keeping an eye out in case they drop the price again.

    Pretty good spec imo:

    2GB RAM
    250GB HDD
    16" HD screen
    Blu-Ray drive

Re: Best Laptop For ~£450 (Toshiba Satellite Pro A300-1RR?)

Should have updated that I went and ordered a Toshiba Satellite A300-21L from John Lewis which arrived this morning:
    http://www.johnlewis.com/230552654/Product.aspx

It was £499 and you get a free 2 years warranty (Instead of the standard 1 year).

Heres the specs and official Toshiba website:
    http://uk.computers.toshiba-europe.c...0-21I/1062029/

    Intel Core 2 Duo T6400
    2GB RAM
    320GB Hard Disk
    DVD-RW
    15.4" Screen
Mobile Intel GMA 4500MHD Graphics Card
    2.72kg
    Harman Kardon Speakers

The Harmon Kardon speakers in the laptop are amazing, the best laptop speakers Ive ever heard!

Comparing to the Argos Samsung R610 deal, it seems I got a better deal for my requirements because (Bigger HD + Extra 1 Yr Warranty Vs. BlueRay) as I would never use the Blue-ray drive. Also, that Dell Studio 15 laptop looks great. I configured one to the exact same spec as the laptop I bought and it came to £529. Thats with the 1 year dell warranty, with a 2 year it came to £621. So no regrets with my purchase, even though the Dell LED screen may have been a better screen, but Im glad I got the free 2 year warranty
