HD content (Sat) on VMC ?

So I am thinking of 'sprucing up' my main media centre PC (running 'Fiji' update on Vista Ultimate) with a S2 satellite card......as I understand that I will then have HD channels (albeit just BBC and ITV ?)

TV Pack (Fiji) does identify HD broadcasts in the Guide, but - obviously - one cannot view these over DVB-T (in the UK ) so......anyone got any experience in Media Centre of this ?

I don't really want to start chicking pennies out on the card (Hauppauge ? any others ????) and a dish, if this is not going to be fruitful

I have no idea how MCE handles HD content.

You could always try MediaPortal instead. It has complete support for HD channels, you can even grab the full Freesat EPG over the air (including all the Sky channels as well as a bonus).

It's not for everyone. Some people just can't get it to work for them.

But it is getting better all the time.

Don't be put off by the basic skins either, there are some awesome ones. I'm using StreamedMP at the moment, very slick. Then you have plugins like Moving Pictures (awesome cataloguer for films) and MPTVSeries (for cataloging TV series). they do make the whole things stand out in my opinion.
