I can get the AM for £4 cheaper than the CM. I will be overclocking.

Neither are gonna clock fantastically, the CM seems better, but i suppose the AM will be fine

Well yeah, they're budget boards. Just looking for the best of the two.

CM seems to be winning at the moment. Would like to see others opinions before ordering though. Not that I don't trust you.

Isnt the AM superior? It also has a black PBC which makes it look better (im sure black is mid/high where as yellow is low/budget).

Yeah I saw that too. Which is what made me question it. The P5KPL-AM has AMI Bios aswell, vs the CM's Award bios.

I had the AM and it doesn't have have that many overclocking options. You can only choose to add 50mv, 100mv and 150mv to Vcore and you can't choose the RAM dividers. It's quite limited to what it can do. With a P5KPL-AM and an E5200 I managed to get 3Ghz stable whereas with a P35 Neo and the same E5200 I managed to get 3.6ghz stable out of it but obviously I needed to up the voltage to just below 1.4V.

Back to your topic though - I heard that the CM ones overclock better than the AM ones but the CM one looks a bit crap to me... Yellowish PCB = ugly.

You really should folk out a bit more and get a P35 mobo though. Second hand mobos aren't that bad either as they tend to be able to last quite long in my opinion.

I am about to go for the P5KPL-CM myself as a slight temporary cheap upgrade from my P5N-MX, just because its FSB and RAM clock speeds are higher once overclocked...from research I did u are much better off going for the CM as it overclocks better, Scan currently sell the CM for £43.32 including VAT! Bargain!

Dont buy the P5KPL-CM Ive just assembled one with an E8400 and I cant even get it stable at 3.6and thats trying a few different ram setups. Infact I wouldnt buy either
