    Now I'm just looking for a HDD and graphics card - the daily deals on scan usually offer up something nice, but any further advce would be welcome
    Good to hear.

    Good luck with the 4th core unlock, let us know how it gets on!
    Sounds like a good set-up, though was that the black edition or standard 720 you bought?

    Probably wise holding out on the graphics (considering the motherboard has it built in) but should let you assess the case, and what will/won't fit

    EDIT: Keep an eye out on the 4870 prices, they have approached the £100 pound mark from the release of the 4770 so you could get a pretty impressive rig put together for peanuts! HEXUS REPORT

    It was the Black edition

    Yeah, I figure that waiting for the graphics card is a safe option - hopefully my beast of an 8800 will fit in for the time being

    The unlocking of that fourth core is going to be fun though - anyone actually done this???

    Considering that the HD4850 costs £86 at Scan perhaps the HD4870 will start dropping in price towards the £100 mark.

    Last post !!!

    To add to what I already have;

    • Scythe Shuriken Rev.B Quiet Low Profile Cooler
    • 512MB XFX HD 4850 XXX
    • 640GB Samsung HD642JJ Spinpoint F1

    I think this all adds up to a decent rig - all for £400!!

    Thanks to everyone for their help!!!
