Toshiba Tecra A2 - cannot get wireless radio on

Trying to get this to connect wirelessly. The intel prog is saying that the hardware radio switch is off. Problem is, I cannot seem to switch it on. I press the Fn and F8 key to switch it on but nothing happens and it still says it is switched off. When I press the Fn key a light comes on below the power on switch but radio will still not switch on.

I did enable the Fn key in bios.

Any ideas?

there's not a physical switch for the wireless is there? had that before on a x60 laptop...

You're a lifesaver. I was sure I'd looked for one. Had another look and found the tiny switch.
