Can you do anything with probably dead CPUs?
Hey,
I have an Intel Quad Core Q6600 2.4GHz, it's about 18-21 months old, been sitting in a box for ages because it died and any machine with it wouldn't post and I never got around to doing anything with it.
So obviously it's miles out of warranty (bought from Scan), but was wondering if there's anything it's worth or worth doing with it before I throw it in the bin, obviously still being £100+ new!
Thanks,
Tim
Re: Can you do anything with probably dead CPUs?
you get 3 years warranty with intel/amd cpu's(unless oem) so you have time, set up and RMA?. If not you can send the chip to me :P.

It is retail so you are indeed right, I will be trying to do an RMA with Scan right now.
Thanks! :)
Tim

Good luck with RMA, you tested with multiple machines right? Just make sure cause you could end up paying alot for scan to test a working product.

I'm very tempted to send you here, even though I don't think it's what you were getting at :D

If the CPU had pins perhaps, but you'll struggle to find any on a Q6600 as it's LGA based ;)

I was going to say Backscratcher as well.
Sharpen it up and make a "can't miss!" acupuncture pad?
