    Desperately trying to repair laptop

    Hi,

I've been given two write-off laptops and I'm trying to get a working one out of these two dead ones. The first has a dead motherboard, and the second has a dead screen, so I've tried transplanting the screen from one to the other.

The operation went fine however I'm still having the same problem with the original screen, specifically when you turn the laptop on, the screen slowly goes white with a some red and green one pixel thick vertical lines also forming, more appearing like they are "burning" or fading in rather than doing the usual on/off thing.

Is there anything I should be aware of, or does anyone have any ideas about this?

    Kind Regards,

    Ruairi

Oh, the system definately definately works, I've had it powered up. It's a Toshiba Satellite Pro 4600.
