XFX GTX260 Black Edition

I'm thinking of selling my one of these (less than 5 months old) with far cry 2 and mirrors edge. how much do you think i'd be able to get for it? Am looking at upgrading to a 1gb ati 4890. Is there much performance difference between the 2?

Is this the 216core version?

If so I would be VERY VERY VERY surprised if you noticed any difference between the two cards...

If its the 216 core version you may be lucky and get £110ish for it...but a better version is selling for £145 new in novatech.

If I was you the only upgrade that I would consider from your card would be to a 4870 X2, or a GTX 285.

its the 216 core version with the core clock @666mhz and memory clock @ 2300mhz though its one of the slightly older 65nm process cards

I posted a few weeks back regarding a GTX260 vs 4870's

I run 2 x 4870 (Crossfire), but built a machine recently for a friend with the 192 Cores GTX260 (EVGA).

The score it took on 3D Vantage was in excess of 12K and it excellent. Runs cooler and quieter than my 4870's aswell.

If i could afford to get rid og the 4870's and get just one of these instead i would i was that impressed.

3dmark is biased towards nvidia cards anways, the HD 4870s are top quality cards.

Im not saying they arent good cards.
What i am saying is the GTX260 is VERY good also and the 4870 is not a very good upgrade from it.

I was actually a little jealous as although my 2 x 4870's are great i cannot notice any difference from the 260 in things like BIOSHOCK/Mirrors Edge/COD5/even Far Cry to a certain extent.

Overall aswell, the 260 felt alot higher quality.

I fully agree with Blitz on this. I have fitted a 192 Core 260 GTX to a mates PC, an EVGA one with higher clocks than standard, and it's fast.

I've got 1 4870 now, and it's also fast, but I'd have had a 260 if it would fit in my case. The 4870 is a tad shorter.

The 260's are near silent, AND use less electricity in 2d, which I use it for a lot, so on the whole I'd stick with what you've got

Yep i'd stick with what you have..i have a 260 216 core version and not upgrading for a while yet.
