USB KVM & Ergo Keyboard Recommendation

Hi all, I'm wondering if you can advise on this. I'd like to replace my existing KVM (ps2 only) to one that supports a USB keyboard and mouse. Does anyone have any experience with these and if so are there any that you'd recommend (or steer well clear of)? Ideally the lower the price the better

At the same time I'd like to replace my existing wired ergonomic keyboard and mouse (both Microsoft) with a wireless set. I'd like to stay with the ergonomic (split) style I think as I find it more comfortable for typing (though perhaps a curve? anyone used both types for touch-typing and if so which would you recommend)? From what I can see there are only two of the split style (a logitech set and a MS one); the layout of the MS looks better (i.e. normal keyboard apart from the split), but again the actual usability of the thing is what's important so I'd appreciate hearing of your experiences with these (or other's that I should consider).

Have you thought about using a PS2 to USB converter to use a USB Kbd with your PS2 KVM switch?

I'd really like to use the existing one, only thing is that it doesn't seem to play well with one of my Linux boxes (well nothing to do with linux, it's the motherboard I guess). The system is an old bare bones IDEQ 200v (Shuttle like), and it doesn't process keyboard input correctly; If I press a key it either ignores it or treats it as 20 keystrokes at once (even in BIOS). I was hoping that I may have more luck with a KVM that connects to the clients via USB.
