    Wireless Keyboard + Mouse

Anyone got any recommendations for a decent wirless keyboard and mouse.
Ideally the lag needs to be small (i know it's hard) as i need it for gaming.
I would just use a wired one but i find i need my desk more and more for writing on and the keyboard gets in the way, but with a wireless i could just put it in a draw.
I know they aren't ideal for gaming but i'm sure i've seen some IR which seem to be good.

My only main problem i've had with one was a mates one which never seemed to pick up half the key movements but i reckon it was just a crappy cheap one.

I got a Logitech Wave keyboard and mouse set, they both feel ok for gaming use, keyboard is fine, mouse could be a smigin better. But you could always plug in your proper mouse for any heavy duty FPS sessions.

The best/only wireless gaming mouse on the market....

Seriously though, who the hell would buy such a thing. 125 quid on a mouse... My wireless Logitech G7 was only 30 quid.

lol, Anyway back to reality, I'd say any decent Logitech bundle would be the best choice.

There's also the Sidewinder X8. Reviews seem to side towards the Mamba, but most seem to acknowledge that the X8 is more than competent. At half the price, it's definitely better value. The problem I've been having is finding a 'wireless gaming keyboard;. Doesn't seem to exist.

    Re: Wireless Keyboard + Mouse

I recommend the G7 if you want to use it for gaming, its never going to beat a cabled mouse though. The razer mouse mentioned earlier is probably good but i wouldnt pay that much for a mouse.

As for keyboards, never owned a wireless one so i cant comment!

That MX5500 looks promising though, that might be a winner if you just want to buy a combo.

The G7 was discontinued a year and half ago. Luckily I managed to pick one up just before it happened

"Scaryjim Technology Services does not recommend the use of wireless mice and keyboards"

Why not just get wired ones - it might not be as *easy* to put them in a drawer or out of the way on the side of your desk, but it's perfectly possible, and you'll save money and get a better product at the same time...

    Re: Wireless Keyboard + Mouse

The new razer mamba has some serious issues with lagging out and not working at all and complete lack of response from the mouse buttons at all, video's all over youtube about it.

Myself I use the Microsoft Ergonomic 6000 desktop set (the split keyboard design) and then I dumped the mouse and moved to the Sidewinder X8 mouse which after using both the razer and the MS X8, the X8 is the bigger bang for your buck at half the price and a decent gaming mouse. I play eve online, TF2, Quake 3 and 4 online and never had a single lag issue with em

    Re: Wireless Keyboard + Mouse

Really? I bought a G5 not long ago? i thought the g7 would still be kicking around somewhere?

    Oh well ignore me

I prefer wires as well, especially for gaming, i got a new razer mouse and its awesome.

Probably one of the best mice i ever had was an MX510 i loved that thing. I still have it in a drawer somewhere .

    Re: Wireless Keyboard + Mouse

Amazingly, the best mouse I ever had was a Logitech S96 OEM that I paid about £6 for. Responsive, accurate, never had an issue with it, still using it to this day (4.5 years later). Must see if they're still available... could do with a new mouse at work...

    Re: Wireless Keyboard + Mouse

I must have missed the X8....??? Didn't know MS had released a wireless gaming mouse.

After looking at pictures and review, I think this might be my next mouse when my G7 dies.

Saying that tho, Logitech support is pro. My rechargeable iPod speakers battery had become a miserable 30 minutes of charge, so I gave them a call and they replaced it for free. Just needed a proof of purchase.

I also read some where that when someone G7 died, he phoned Logitech up and they offered him a G9 replacement for free. He only needed the serial number and send some pictures of his mouse after hammertime.

So, I wonder what Logitech will be offering me next time I call

    Thanks guys.

Will probaly get the Logitech Cordless Desktop Wave Pro mainly because it comes with a better mouse that gets decent reviews.

Now on my quest to make my desk neater i just need to convince my gf/soon to be wife that mounting the speakers and putting a shelf above my tv/monitor will be fine and look better.
She doesn't even go in the room that often!

'Monitor' is a projector, and the PC (which serves both gaming and HTPC needs) is tucked almost out of sight. I don't mind running some wires behind the table/desks etc., but the less wire I need to drag across the room, the better. In the end I did go with a wired keyboard, but it's a pain in the neck and it's getting replaced as soon as I can find a half decent wireless gaming keyboard (I realise that I may have to wait long). The Sidewinder X8 turned out fine (if a lil big for my hands), I don't find it laggy in any perceivable way.
