i7 upgrade time - yay, mb choices?

Hi, I've got most of my build sorted, 920 (D0 stepping) adding another GTX 260 and 6GB corsair 1600 dominators. I am how ever stuck on which mb to get, I have narrowed it down to 3/4 choices:

Asus P6T Deluxe V2 (having always been a bit of Asus fan-boy, should one get V1 or V2, is there any really difference?)

DFI LP UT X58-T3eH8 (read some good reviews, but very had a DFI board before)

Gigabyte GA-EX58-UD5 (although im not sold on the slot layout with having no free PCI slots in SLI unless using single slot cards)

Any thoughts would be appreciated, thanks

gigabyte - maybe try with EX58-Extreme or EX58-UD4 if EX58-UD5 has some design limitation according to your needs

I'm looking at the same lineup and interested in feedback on what's best... but re the P6T Deluxe V1/V2 differences; it looks like the only difference is V1 has 2 SAS ports (the successor to SCSI) and V2 doesn't have them - not sure why a version bump removed a feature, but I'd guess that not many people are going to make use of SAS on one of these boards anyway.

I had the DFI X58-T3EH6 and now have the Asus P6T6 WS Revolution.

The Asus has been by far the better board but I have also heard a lot of praise for the Gigabyte boards.

btw Corsair kinda obsoleted their own Dominator Ram.

I have the DFI LP UT X58-T3eH8 and I am very happy with it.
Very easy to overclock on and I have my 920 (D0 stepping) @ 4.1GHz with very little effort.
I am also running 6gig of dominators & 280GTX cards in Sli.

I have the Asus P6T Deluxe V2 and a Msi eclipse board. To be honest this time around I prefer the Msi board. I myself am more of a Asus fan

And if you don't need a gazillion Add-In Boards, the Asus Rampage II Gene is a pretty sweet performer at a far more digestible price.

I do have a few add in cards, it needs to have 2x GTX260s, Auzen X-Fi Prelude and pci-e tv tuner. Since I'm water cooling the 260s they will be single slot, fortunately.

Thanks all for the feedback, I'm going to go for the UD5 or the P6T Deluxe (which ever I can find cheaper, budget of around £200-£220), both seem to be good overclockers. Back to read some more memory reviews.

In that case, all your AIBs will fit in the Gene. Also, the onboard audio chip, and X-Fi emulation actually produces good audio, much to my surprise.

Not sure whether they're good or not, but Lambda-tek have the UD5 for £197.57 which is the cheapest I've seen:

From past experiences Lambda-tek are cheap but thats all, they dont reply to anything and if you have any problems (delivery and dead on arrival) then they are useless. I had to take them to court to get a refund from them.
Anyway back on topic, I would go for the Asus board, the only difference between the v1 and v2 is the removal of the SAS controller.

Another vote for the Gigabyte UD5, its a very good board and with single slot coolers you should have no problem with your add in card needs. As for where to get them from - scan has the UD5 for &#163;211, bargain in my opinion. http://www.scan.co.uk/Products/Gigab...00-SATA-II-ATX
