    help please wrong sata controller

    i just order a Adaptec AAR-1420SA 4-Port SATA-II RAID Controller blindy and it doesnt fit into the pci slot in my Gigabyte M750SLi-DS4 board , gonna send it back

    can someone point me to a sata card that would fit please 4 ports on it

    I take it there are components in the way of the excess portion of the controllers connector?

    If you don't use the second PCIe-16x then you can use this:

    you picked PCI-X

    you need PCI or PCI-e x1 if you have the little pcie slot on your board.

    PCI-X is for server boards usually.

    A lot of PCI-X cards have PCI electrical fallback support. Not always though. By far the biggest problem with using PCI-X cards in PCI slots is potential blockage after the PCI slots trailing edge.

    The specs of the card on Overclockers does state PCI 32bit compatability
