hi guys im thinking of selling my sig rig 1 and was just wondering how much i would get for it?? the graphics card is an 8800gts 320MB (G80) but it has overclocked very well.

With or without the monitor?

Without the monitor and as a whole your system is probably worth around about £240, it will depend somewhat on how old the components are. With the monitor probably £70 or £80 more, so around £300 in total. You may get more money by splitting, and maybe more if you use ebay (but you would have to take into account fees)

i only built it a year and a half ago and it cost about 1k......this was the dogs nuts at the time....bloody hell i cant believe how worthless it is.....

i really wouldnt get more than 250?? everything is in mint condition, a little dusty but thats it

If you have buyer specifically looking for this type of system, you might get £300.

A year and half is a long time in this industry so don't be too surprised that its lost that much value.

I feel for you - I built my system this year for about £600 and yours is better...
The second-hand factor will definitely drive down the price.

dont feel so bad, in september 08 i bought my saphia HD4870 512 for £210 including delivery not its worth barely £100 brand new

Selling entire builds second hand is never a good idea. Your pricing problems are as follow: 4GB of OCZ Platinum is now only £40 new; 500GB SATA drives can be bought new from ~ £40; graphics cards with a better feature set and performance than the 8800GTS can be bought for £70 (HD4830); a top of the range Phenom II processor (or Intel Q9550) can be had for around £200 - so the cost of building a system that would perform the same or better than yours is probably only half what you originally paid. *Then* your system is second hand anyway, so people expect it to be even cheaper than that. If you buy bleeding edge technology, you have to be prepared for the fact that it'll be obsolete in 2 years

Are you selling with the intention of investing in a rebuild, or just to free up some spare cash? If it's the former, then I'd recommend reusing as much of your existing kit as possible (The Antec 900 remains one of the most recommended cases on these forums, for example!). If not, then I'd suggest you sell the mobo / cpu / ram as a bundle (although you could try shifting them individually first), the graphics card (people often look for specific older graphics cards for SLI / Crossfire setups driving the price up), case and monitor separately, and think about keeping the hard drives and getting one of those USB converters so you can use them as external drives for additional storage. Since you've got more than 100 posts you're eligible to sell your stuff through the Hexus Classifieds forum, but be prepared for some haggling

ok thanks for that. what did you mean by bleeding edge? to be honest for that little im not going to sell it. id rather give it to my brother.

I'm building a slightly better rig and its costing me around £600. With it being second hand it would cost alot less.
