I read that isopropyl alcohol is the best thing to use when cleaning off thermal paste, however I don't have any. My father has suggested vodka as a replacement, will that be ok?
I'm just planning installing my shiny new Xigmatek

its not perfect, but will do the job.
nail varnish remover would be the 2nd option so long as it doesnt contain conditioner.
you will need a large glass of vodka and some ear buds.
dip a couple of ear buds in the vodka, clean up the mess and down the rest

Some dry kitchen paper will do the trick unless it's that cement type stuff.
I use adhesive remover
I use TIM cleaner, as its 4 quid for a bottle and it lasts ages.
'Nother one for TIM Cleaner; also love the smell...
I use Articlean here. If I feel like it, I also use isopropyl alcohol. Articlean works best for first pass though as it dissolve the paste with greater ease than isopropyl (TIM Cleaner probably works the same way).
I use Akasa tim-clean...it last ages as you say..and the smell is mmmm..lemony
IPA isn't that expensive from Maplin.
