I read that isopropyl alcohol is the best thing to use when cleaning off thermal paste, however I don't have any. My father has suggested vodka as a replacement, will that be ok?
I'm just planning installing my shiny new Xigmatek![]()

its not perfect, but will do the job.
nail varnish remover would be the 2nd option so long as it doesnt contain conditioner.
you will need a large glass of vodka and some ear buds.
dip a couple of ear buds in the vodka, clean up the mess and down the rest![]()

Some dry kitchen paper will do the trick unless it's that cement type stuff.
I use adhesive remover
I use TIM cleaner, as its 4 quid for a bottle and it lasts ages.
'Nother one for TIM Cleaner; also love the smell...
I use Articlean here. If I feel like it, I also use isopropyl alcohol. Articlean works best for first pass though as it dissolve the paste with greater ease than isopropyl (TIM Cleaner probably works the same way).
I use Akasa tim-clean...it last ages as you say..and the smell is mmmm..lemony![]()
IPA isn't that expensive from Maplin.
