    Cheapest 775 crossfire board?

Well ive been looking for a mobo for a possible replacement and now amd seem to be on top especially on dual card setups i was thinking of look for a crossfire board. Anyone know of a cheap but ok board? Possible overclocks would be nice(1600fsb is fine) and 4 dimms/4sata/ 1pci slot.

    Re: Cheapest 775 crossfire board?

It maybe cheaper to get an X2 card especially with the HD4870X2 under £250. Two HD4870 1gb cards would cost more BTW.

I would look at getting a P45 based motherboard and there are a few for under £100:

Not all will support crossfire so you will need to check the specs first.

    Re: Cheapest 775 crossfire board?

A lot of the cheaper P45 boards do not have 16x on both PCI-Es when in crossfire. Not sure if this would cause bottlenecks or not, but an X2 is still probably a wiser decision.

I have a Biostar TP45 HP (P45) and when in crossfire both ports run at 8x. I have seen a forum post regarding it and it apparently makes very little difference, but it is always better to be on the safe-side, and therefore I'm also looking to pickup a 4870x2 this summer.

OK, shame mobo pricing seems to be alot higher now xD i think ill just wait till new amd or intel processors and do a full upgrade but with a better board .
