Front case audio sound cards?
Hi guys.
This might be a silly question, but I'm wondering if front audio case sound cards exist?
I use my headset quite a bit and when I plug it into the front audio sockets of my case (antec 900) I can hear a faint buzziing sound in the background and it gets worse as my PC does more stuff. It is very noticeable when I scroll for example.
So, do these type of sound cards exist? I could just plug the headset into the back audio sockets of my PC (works fine when I do it that wau btw, it's not the headset) but its a hassle pulling everything out and putting it all back in!
Cheers
Re: Front case audio sound cards?
why not try putting tin foil round the audio cable then wrapping with insulating tape so it doesnt short on anything, it should stop the feedback thats being picked up within the case.

I think i know the problem, i had the same thing. Is the on-board done by realtek? Dont know how to sort it on vista im afraid but its "pc noise" or "pc beep" as it was on fully in xp, turning this off got rid of it (it was in advanced sounds on xp). Although i havent had a problem since moving to windows 7..

Shame you don't know how to fix on Vista :(. It is so annoying!
GoNz0, I think I will give that a go if I can't find any other fix. Cheers mate.
Any more advice would be appreciated guys.
Re: Front case audio sound cards?
one thing you could do is get a multifunction panel, like this one. http://www.scan.co.uk/Products/AKASA...eader-see-info
it has passthrough cables with it, plugs in the back of the multi-panel, then you route the cable to the line in, mic and headphone sockets - 1 cable each. then you just plug everything into the front of your case instead of the back.
you also get 2 fan controllers and temp probes with it - handy for monitoring temps while in games without alt-tabbing to look at software. aswell as e-sata and a couplke of USB ports, not to mention a card reader to boot.
others are available here http://www.scan.co.uk/Index.aspx?NT=1-0-28-339-0
Re: Front case audio sound cards?
There are loads of external soundcards USB and firewire:
USB: http://www.dv247.com/icat/USB+Audio+Interfaces/2974/
Firewire: http://www.dv247.com/icat/Firewire+A...erfaces+/2970/
for example
This would prevent interference (if that's waht your problem is).
