My Antec Smartpower 500 recently expired....so I switched to the Tagan TG-700BZ - it's a beautiful piece of kit. I particularly like the modular connections - none of your crappy plastic- proper metal plugs with screw fittings. Oh and it has lots of pretty lights - always good.

Re: What is the best PSU brand in your opinions?

I had some very good experiences with Antec cases and PSUs when I first started building computers, and I've basically stuck with them ever since - I haven't been disappointed yet. I wouldn't necessarily claim they're the best, but you're unlikely to go far wrong with them and they do a good top-to-bottom range which (IMNSHO) represent reasonable value...

Re: What is the best PSU brand in your opinions?

I favour Seasonic/Seasonic made PSU. I not had any problem with them so far, something I can't say about Antec/Enermax (still well respected). PC Power and Cooling are well known for quality too, but not known for being quiet (they did have a low noise range which were Seasonic made). Not too sure how if being acquired by OCZ has affected the quality of their products though. Never used BeQuiet, so can't comment on them at all.

Re: What is the best PSU brand in your opinions?

Depends on the motherboard. Some of them have compatibilities with certain PSU's (the Enermax Revolution 85+ and EVGA Classified spring to mind). Having said that, the Enermax Revolution 85+ range is hands down the best IMO .

Re: What is the best PSU brand in your opinions?

I have just finished building a rig with a bequiet IMHO they are brilliant and slightly better than the seasonsic but this is only cosmetic
Experience is something you don't get until just after you need it.

Re: What is the best PSU brand in your opinions?

Corsair, Seasonic, etc they are all good midrange PSUs.

If you want high-end PSU, look for PC Power and Cooling. They even do 1000 watt Single Rail, and up to 7 years warranty.

P.S. PSU from top maker will cost you!

Sorry but your second sentence is incorrect.
PC P&C used to be a High End brand, but they simply cannot be considered high end now they are OCZ.

You also can´t possibly say that some of the other brands, such as the Enermax Revolution for example, isn´t High End, when they are clearly better units than the example you offered.

In fact Zippy PSU´s are about as good as you can get but they are a little thin on the ground in the UK.

Re: What is the best PSU brand in your opinions?

I'll probably be going with Corsair for my next build, their newest 450w has a 7 year warranty. Though I am tempted to stick with Enermax because my current PSU has given my 7 years+ flawless service.

Is anyone using the Enermax REVOLUTION 85+ 850w - Can you tell me about it is it noisy under game play or long use of the computer? - i'm thinking of getting either Corsair HX 850 or the Enermax and detailed help would be cool
