I am a Seasonic fan myself but I don't think you can say any brand is the best.

I own both a Seasonic and a Be Quiet PSU.
The Seasonic is good but I personally find the Be Quiet to be superior in all regards, even down to the packaging and accessories, but especially down to the fact that it is uber quiet.
In the past few years I've been using Seasonics or Seasonic-made Corsairs. Not because I'm some kind of fanboy, but they've been 100% reliable (as well as silent) so I stuck with them because of that.
Enermax
On scan today only there's a 1010W FSP thats a £25 reduction. Be quick though...

If I was to buy a PSU today it would either be a Corsair HX 750W / 850W, if anything goes wrong with them I read an article in the Corsair thread that Scan picked up the PSU & sorted the RMA, now that saves a small fortune on postal fees if you need to RMA.
Seasonic PSU's have a good RMA service via Nanopoint meaning you have a UK return point.
Corsair PSU's are either Channel Well Technology or Seasonic manufactured anyway so you know your getting a quality components inside the PSU.
I woudnt choose anything else at the moment so Corsair PSU or Seasonics own brand M12D series.
Have used Antec, Tagan and a couple of budget brands when the need arose.
I'd buy both Antec and Tagan again but Tagan's support is an issue.
The Seasonic we're using wasn't bought out of choice but has been perfectly stable despite all the hard drives twittering away.
Most recently I've used a mixture of Corsair TX and HX models in a variety of machines - the oldest of which is maybe 1yr old. I am happy to recommend them because of my good experiences so far.
When it comes to value PSU's make me wince. I use a Corsair TX in my main rig because I'd rather use more cable ties than pay extra for a less powerful modular device. Even then I almost risked a more budget purchase because IMHO £60-70 on a PSU is madness.
Still it works well so every machine I've built since uses a derivative with no issues so far

I'm happy with my Corsairs, previously I've used prebuilt machine & their PSU's, which have mainly been FSP, they have given good usage.
I hear very good things about Enermax, might go with them on a cheap upgrade build I am currently in the middle of doing but have halted due to the need for a new monitor.
Anyway folks, which do you currently recommend: Corsair CX400W or the Enermax ECO80+ 350W?
Is there anything else around the £40 quid mark that is modular with comparable build quality, I knew I should have brought that 400W Liberty last year when it was about £40.
For £40 I can't think of any modular PSUs but there is a 350w Be Quiet unit for £30 (£23 if you move quickly) over at ebuyer - http://www.ebuyer.com/product/166784
Yep, that is a good price but the PSU's I've listed have UK RMA - The Corsair (Back to Scan) & the Enermax (To C&J Computers?), in case its needed, I think postage to Germany or Netherlands would be double that of UK.
The other PSU's have longer warranty and the main thing I was also looking at was the 8pin CPU connector, as most newer boards (e.g. P45's?) utilize the 8pin connector. Oh yeah, plus postage to have it delivered.
Thanks, will keep in mind if it's still there and I need to order something else taking the order to greater than £50.

My Corsair HX620 blew a few months ago and I can't recommend Scan's customer service enough, they sent me a replacement within a couple of days and even returned my mounting bracket free of charge after I accidentally left it attached to the RMAd PSU.
Id recommend either PC Power & Cooling, or as other have said some Corsairs.
My HX520 has powered my system since Xmass nicely, and most importantly, Quietly!
Cheers guys, I've used a 2 Hiper silent ones, one was 520 other was 750+ they had no active cooling on them so were silent, I loved the 520 until it blew up. LOL i've just realised this PC i'm using now has an Enermax Pro 82+ 425W which i bought from Scan. its not bad. I might just go for another Enermax, We'll see..
