Using Sata Drive in native Sata mode Windows XP

When windows xp loads you get a prompt to "press F3 to load drivers" so that u can run the hard drives in Sata mode. However when running in Sata mode does a drive need to be set as a dynamic disc? I keep all of my drives as basic as I once had an issue when I reinstalled the OS, I could not access a large dynamic hard drive for whatever reason but the solution was to hack it back to dynamic with the help of a hexidecimal editor.

I just got a G15, Xonar dx and a new Hitachi 7k100.b 1Tb drive.

No, SATA native mode just means using the new AHCI protocol for SATA data exchange instead of the old 'IDE' protocol. It has nothing to do with Windows partitioning/volume management.
