Hi guys, Ive recently ordered a new HSF and i was wondering whats the best removing thing out there.
Im not planning on buying anything so whats the best household stuff for removing the thermal paste?
Vodka?
Nail Varnish Remover?
Paper Towel?
Cotton Swabs?
The Nail That Sticks Out Gets Hammered Down
Paper towel and pressure.
Never used any kind of TIM cleaner, it's not like you need to get it spotless before applying new compound.

Nail varnish remover works fine - I use it with cotton buds then wait for it to evaporate to blow off any stray strands.
Isopropyl alcohol, you can get it from your local pharmacy. And yes, it is very important to clean the thermal surface off properly! Use cotton buds for accuracy.
Oh god, not another removing thermal paste thread. The last one went on for four pages. A truly gripping read...:
