    To Finish My Water Cooling

Basically I need to finish my build.

    What I have so far:
    TJ09
    Liang DDC 10W Pump
    EK Spin Res
    EK Supreme
    Black Ice GT Stealth 240
    all with 3/8 barbs.

    That look ok?

First thing is that I need screws to mount the radiator to the radiator mount. The holes on the Black Ice are M4 but Im finding it hard to find any. Anyone know where to buy? They need to be short.

I found this, 10mm seems a bit long.

    For RAD2:

Seems good for the price. Anything bad about this rad?

I've estimated that I need around 7 foot of tubing. That sound about right?

And how much Feser One should I get? 2 Litres?

    Orange please

Re: To Finish My Water Cooling

are you using open corner fans?

if yes then 10 mm will be ok.

    http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/M4-x-10-mm-Soc...d=p3286.c0.m14

as for the other information I can not comment as the links do not work.

pipe - about 2meters will do the job but 7 feet will give you a little extra.

as for coolant feser has some problems with blocking up water blocks.

    http://www.watercoolinguk.co.uk/cata...oducts_id=1007

this will not. One bottle will do the job, but better to have extra to top up level if required.

Re: To Finish My Water Cooling

I think I have the screws sorted for now.

    Fixed the links XD

You were right. I did the maths and it turns out it will barely take half a litre to fill.

Do you have any links that compares the performance between the two, as google is barely giving me any hits apart from the company's own woffle.

Re: To Finish My Water Cooling

Yeah seems totally overkill just to cool a cpu especially only a C2D. I have a phenom 2 and a 4890 in my rig with only a thermochill dual rad to cool and it never has any problems. If your not cooling a graphics card I would dump the internal small rad especially with only a 10 watt pump.

Re: To Finish My Water Cooling

Im going be cooling a i7 860 and will be probably trying to OC it quite a bit.

The Stealth is around half the size of a Thermochill so I thought it might need some back up. It will probably just be the CPU to begin with, but next time I upgrade the graphics card I will probably end up water cooling it.

And that leads me on to my next question: is a 10W pump not enough for the current setup? I can do the mod to make it 18W at any time, but just thought it be a it quieter as a 10W.

Re: To Finish My Water Cooling

A 18W version would have been better but as you say you can always get the soldering iron out.
It is also a good idea to get an after market top. ie xspc

I have had a look at a few pictures and there looks like plenty of room in the top of the case for 25mm fans and
    http://www.watercoolinguk.co.uk/cata...roducts_id=464

as this is only 6mm thicker than the stealth

Re: To Finish My Water Cooling

Only have one rad for the time being. I would get a good fan controller and two goods fans on your first rad and turn the fans up when needed, or on auto if you get the right kit.

Re: To Finish My Water Cooling

Well thought I would post an update. Against your better advice I ended up buying everything anyway.

    Pre water cooling

Black Ice Stealth 240 and XPSC RS120:

    5x Xigmatek XLF-X1253:

A bit of braiding to clean some wires up:

After a few hours; leak testing. And yes, my rig is on and being used on the side XD

    More pictures later.
I'd say it is around 70% finished. Still need to test it on my current rig and buy a Core i7

Re: To Finish My Water Cooling

Big thanks to Taktak for sending me some screws to hold my radiator, it is now securely fitted on the top mount.

Running cool my E6600 at 3.6GHz at 53 degrees during full load.

Orange Feser isnt orange enough for my tastes. Might try the Primochill next time.

Not sure about the look of the coils, probably end up taking them off.

These Xigatek fans are damn loud. Need to get a fan controller or something. But I will see how the mobo fan controller thing is first when I get my GD80 hooked up.

    Enjoy
