What is the hot E8400 CPU micro-ATX motherboard at the moment?
I've been recommended this CPU is very good for speech recognition due to the large L2 cache. I am an AMD person and I'm a bit confused by all the new numbers chipsets and speeds of the Intel motherboards. any suggestions or recommendations from micro-ATX motherboards would be much appreciated.

OK.... unless I am very wrong the L2 cache will not directly effect speech recognition, and it would be more improtant to have good software.
But...
I would be looking at a P45/43 or a P35/31 mobo, depending on the budget.
This looks good tho:

Asus tends to be at the forefront. If you want to use the integrated graphics, ATI's seem to be about the best - 780G, 790FX etc.

I've built two Gigabyte E7AUM-DS2H boards (all solid caps) with an E5200 - apparently an E8400 with a gimped cache - and both have been perfect. One was Vista as a HTPC which sleeps daily, and mine is a gaming PC with 64bit Vista and has previously had XP+Debian on it working fine also. HDMI, eSATA port, S/PDIF, and digital coax in+out with the optional PCI bracket.
Fairly pricey, though.
