I don't know about anyone else, but I would really like to buy an E8400 but by doing so I feel I would be stabbing AMD in the back. By getting AMD I feel I am supporting the underdog and sticking it To the Man. Is this completely stupid?

I simply buy the best I can afford, regardless of whether that's AMD or INTEL.
I'm not sure you can describe any company who generates millions in profits annually as an underdog, to me they aint doing bad!!

I switched from AMD to Intel. Nothing to do with loyalties though, there's not much choice when it comes to mITX motherboards with a PCI-e x16 slot. If there was an AMD mobo with one on then i'd have stayed AMD because of the 720BE, instead i'm stuck with an E5200 (tempted to buy a C2Q this weekend though, payday! )
I use whatever is best for that particular build.
Media PCs are AMD as their integrated graphics systems are pretty good. My Quad desktop is Intel as that was the best price/performance ratio when I bought it (performance was weighted higher than price too).
My new built server is AMD because the RAID cards I'm using have issues with off the shelf Intel boards and the integrated graphics have left me with more space for expansion cards.
Actually I did mean revenue, But if AMD are in fact losing millions in each quarter they'll soon go out of business then the question of brand loyalty will be moot?
I truly hope not, because personally I think they're very much on track with their new range and they're still Intel's only viable opposition.
I used to be amd/ati fan as they were the best when i first got my pc etc and for about 3 upgrades i stuck with them but my latest build(last year) i went with intel, moving to amd for next build at the rate amd is producing better chips.
I buy the best, not a fan of either.
I did exactly the same thing at the end of last year.
Haven't used Intel since my P166, but I finally dived in and got an e8400. Loving it, running at 3.6Ghz without breaking a sweat.
"Don't wanna see your face, don't wanna hear your voice . . ."
Had an AMD 386DX40, 486DX266 (which I sold and changed to Intel because lack of CPUID support), and a Athlon XP 2000+.
The rest of the time it's all been Intel, never been impressed by AMD or their platforms.
