Processor choice

Hi, I am thinking of either these 2 processors for a build which I am going to build (I am not going to be overclocking)

As far as im aware either should be compatible with that mobo, and if your not clocking I would suggest the tri-core chip

Yep they're both compatible with that mobo. I'd choose the 7850 for gaming as it's clocked higher but the 8650 for more general purpose/multitasking.

Im thinking of getting the new phenom II 550be its only a little extra cost.

I would look at getting either the X2 550BE or X3 710 if the budget allows and the latter will be better for multitasking TBH.

However if you have a constrained budget I would go for the Athlon II X2 250:

It will have lower power consumption than both the X2 7850BE and X3 8650 and be faster too.

The motherboard would be fine for both CPUs.
It really depends on how you will use the system. The X2 for gaming as games generally prefer core performance (clock, etc) over the number of cores. However, from your choice of motherboard (integrated graphics) I doubt you'll be doing much gaming.

I would probably go for the X3 710 as the Phenom II is around 5% faster clock for clock than the Phenom and a few games like GTA4 seem to like multiple cores. However the Phenom II X2 550 can be had for under £75 too so it is a good choice too as it is clocked quite high and has a lareg amount of cache too. However for multi-tasking a tri or quad core would be better IMHO.
