    Good soundcards

Can anyone recommend a good soundcard that'll mainly get used for blu-ray and gaming. i've been looking at the Creative Soundblaster X-Fi Titanium Fatal1ty Professional

At present i can get 5.1 sound with the Line Out sockets, and optical cable too from my onboard soundcard into my Yamaha RX-V361 av receiver. I can watch BD in DD 5.1 with PowerDVD using the optical cable, but with games i have to use the Line out sockets\phono leads which isn't as good a sound.

I would like to get a card that i can get 5.1 surround in games with the optical cable as well as films. Then i can be done with need for crappy phono leads for the sound, and free up the sockets in the back of my amp.

    Re: Good soundcards

I use X-Fi for movies and games and the card is really good at that. Once I started messing with the software i really liked it.
I have X-Fi Gamer edition which is PCI. The PCI Express, like on the Titanium you linked to,
    should be even better.
I still did not make switch to blueray so no idea about that.

Check out the X-Fi Forte if you can afford it and possibly the Xonar cards (although they tend to be hit or miss at gaming prowess).
