Not as such, no, not the kind of instructions you're after if it's a first time build, but there are a lot of online guides. There are also magazines you can buy with how-to guides.

There are loads of online things.

Just google "building a pc", there will be lots of guides.

Tbh.. it's pretty simple. When you asked if is colour coded like the back.., it's actually quite similar to that inside. Parts can only go in one place and one way round etc..

It can be a very stressful experience though and paying £100 on top of the parts for someone like overclockers or yoyotech to build it for you can be well worth it.

    Re: I need help please!!!

Inside a case, you have a big board, called the motherboard (or in Politcally Correct Terms 'Mainboard').

These motherboards come with instructions on how to put in the most vital components, the CPU, the RAM and the Hard drive. As well as how to screw the motherboard to the case.

It is actually very easy as long as your pateint. If your the kind of person that always found technic lego obvious and easy, building a PC is no harder (just more expensive )

Building PC's is generally what brought us all here. It's certainly not as hard as it's perceived to be & as you seem to have a logical technical mind, it shouldn't be too much of an issue imo. read some online guides, so you can get your head round the fundamentals

    Re: I need help please!!!

I was always a 'gifted' child in this respect, but aged 6 i was telling my dad he was putting the new HDD (Hard Disc Drive) in the A5000 (a 1991 computer that was rather cutting edge at the time) in the wrong way round. Nothing bad was going to happen, its just the cable wouldn't of allowed the case to close.

That is a classic example of the complications of building a modern PC!

In all honesty, finding and having a forum like this is the hardest task, and the most useful resource!

No.. putting things down the toilet and then throwing them at my brother. I can't figure out which one of us is normal

I looked breifly at dell for some deals but nothing worthwhile around the £600 mark even with the 10% off on dmx..

As the guys have said it is fairly easy puting the actual bits together if you have some common sense its when things dont go to plan that things can get hairy

    Re: I need help please!!!

My advice would be buy a pre-built pc!! The only thing you need to do is follow the set instruction for vista, and then download your anti-virus + msn etc

I not recommend anyone to build a pc unless they had some understanding of its workings. As some have pointed a few things can and do go wrong e.g bent pins.

If there is a independent pc shop near you go ask them. They tend to have people who know what there on about! As opposed to pc world where they need to consult the company book lol
