    quiet low profile cooling

Want to get a new cooler for my mediaPC.
Tis an AMD Athlon X2 5000+ (borrowed) in an Antec Fusion Black (or whatever it's called now).
Still has the stock PSU and fans in the case.
I removed the fan from the stock heat sink and replaced it with a sharkoon golfball fan. Doesn't actually fit, so it currently just rests on the heat sink cooling away, not ideal, especially as my daughter banged the case and I found the fan had fallen off and was no longer spinning (bit of a problem really). Doesn't seem to have damaged anything but could do with a better solution.
Budget is tight, want to spend as little as possible but can go to approx £30 if needed (no more though).
Options I see are get a new cooler (ie the mini ninja or scyth shuriken, or one of the northq ufo/ zalman flower coolers).
or find a way of securing the golfball fan to the stock heatsink and spending the budget on something else to quiet it down (ie a fan controller / replacment case fans).
What ideas do you guys have for me please?

You said Scythe Mini Ninja. Roll with that idea it's the best cooler for that case, can often be run passive.

    Re: quiet low profile cooling

Yep, well that was my 1st thought. Wanting to check if I it's spending the dosh wisely and if it'll make a noticeable difference.
Will still keep pondering and welcome additional input.

    Re: quiet low profile cooling

I'm not sure what the height restriction is for the HSF on the Antec Fusion, but I have myself been looking for a low profile HSF to be used in a mini-ITX build, and this is being released soon from Scythe.

It's actually 6mm shorter than the original Shuriken and has a 120mm fan instead of 100mm. If it performs better than the original, then I'm definitely considering it. Although I'll probably replace the 12mm thick fan with a better 25mm thick fan.
