Where are the new shiny DX11 GPU cards?

Its the 1st of July...and I am impatient... :-P, has anyone heard of potential lineups / release dates for the next line of ATI/NVIDIA GPU's?

I have been holding off on updating my ageing 8800GT for these cards....but am getting tempted by the cheap 4850X2 1GB cards, however cant find a benchmark for them (but seem to be highly rated on Toms Hardware).

The only reason why I have not got a 4850X2 is that I heard somewhere that they are super loud...which is a big no no for me.

So....anyone know anything about these suposed July release DX11 cards?

I think it is July of 2010 when the shinny new DX11 cards come out.

If you aren't preapred to wait, get the new Single PCB GTX 295 (confirming from Scan if that actually IS the SPCB).

I cant imagine them waiting a year to release DX11 cards, just think back 3 months ago when the 4870 was almost £200, the price of the current cards are dropping at a phenomenal rate, something tells me they are trying to shift the current stock quickly.

I know July 2010 is wrong. My point was supposed to be "erm you're kinda in the wrong time period, you couldn't be more off if you tried".

Hmmm...so until then the current range of cards is all that will be available? BTW a 295 is WAY above what I would be willing to pay for a GPU..£250 is going to be my limit.

Hmm... the recession couldn't have anything to do with that could it?

"Oh crap we have 200,000 cards to sell before the DX11 cards come out in the next 6 months, we need to get rid of them!"

I dont think the recession had anything to do with it, otherwise you would have seen the same huge price cuts everywhere else.

Re: Where are the new shiny DX11 GPU cards?

Truthfully, i probably wouldnt wait, even if it comes out in the next 6 months there will only be a handful of titles that use dx11. Hardly worth paying 300 quid plus? Get a cheaper card and be done with it, it will last you a while.

Sorry, but why are you assuming they will cost £300+? Even if they did, it would push down the cost of the current cards even further, which is a good thing for consumers and a good reason to wait unless you absolutely need one.

Re: Where are the new shiny DX11 GPU cards?

few (good) games will use dx11 until after months of release so it's always better to buy gpus several months after release, when they are slightly cheaper and all the different custom pcbs come out. after all the gpu price drops taking place now, it's a good idea to upgrade now if you have an old card.
