Motherboards that take mobile CPU's
Do such boards still exist? I remember back in the day of the single core Core CPU's the were available and a lot of enthusiasts ran them but not seen anything of late?
Wanting all my PC's to use the lowest power possible whilst still having the grunt to do what I want.
Looking to replace my Media box soon and build something powerful small and good for lans and a mobile CPU would be ideal.
Re: Motherboards that take mobile CPU's
a few mini-itx boards do, but they're hellishly expensive (they're generally made for the embedded / industrial market). Also they're quite limited as to what sockets are available. Although with mini-ITX becoming more and more popular there's always an outside chance that we'll see more mobile sockets on consumer grade mini-ITX boards. But in general I'd say stick with regular processors / mobos and just choose carefully for lower power draw...

But as scaryjim said I'm not sure it's worth the extra
