i've used one and from what i can tell its an ibm/hitachi...nice fast drive and it hasn't died yet,still for an extra £8 i'd probably get the wd 80gb for £43
I had a few die at work aftera bout 2 years...

iirc excelstor don't manufacture hard disks - they sell refurbs of all the other brands. look at whichever drives are geting the high failure rates atm, that's probably what you'll get
actually excelstore do manufacture the drives ,they manufacture them for hitachi and also have a thing where they sell hitachi drives under there own name
3 year warranty as standard on these aswell remember
I have a 30gb drive, noisy and slow but reliable and cheap.
I have an excelstor it died after 3 months.
