How Mbps do you need for online gaming?

Yeh it does - I've kind of gone off wireless because it works absolutely fine for a while but then will suddenly die...

You were right...

I'm gonna try homeplugs first, then if that fails, I'll get the ethernet cable (prefer not to cause I don't really want wires running along the fence)

I hope it works out for you. I had a similar problem, my wireless signal kept dropping (N+) going through two walls (from the living room to my bedroom), in the end i bought two reels of ethernet cable and some panels and put panels in the parts of the house i would need the internet. I put all the cables either under the floorboards or in the loft (depending where they were going).

Cables, crimps and RJ45 clips werent too expensive and they werent difficult to put together.

I must be lucky that my wireless works for me without fail, like a loyal dog looking up at his master as he tries to suck as much life out of him as possible.
