    yeah that was what im on about,

    its pata and sata

    to be fair, its 20$ more on launch in USA, and i dont see the point when its low bandwidth and wont benfit from SATA

    not only that, 12x dvdrs arnt out yet, so theres no point in getting one full stop as they will be a lot more


    might as well wait till prices come down in a few months and get the pata version imo

    i bought a 4x for 35inc, as it was cheap

    backed my stuff up, and now i plan on selling it to get money back , just read the dvdrs from my normal dvd drive

    then get one when there faster



    its like a cdrw drive, i paid 100 quid for my 8x, and it kills me to see 52x for lesss than 20 quid new..

    I already have my shuttle cover off, with 2 HD in it :/ I gues I will have a HD used to only bakc things up lol. (Store it in my cuboard)

    i have just bought an 8x NEC 2500 DVD Writer. I decided not to wait for dual layer, as there is no point!

    It probably wont be popular until the end of this year, and even then the media for it will just be starting to come out and they will most likely be 2x. Another point is the price will be too high, so you might aswell just wait a year and also what are you gonna use the 8.5GB for? maybe the odd dvd copy, but any data and games downloaded off the net are all 4.5GB or under.
