    Laptop pan european guarantee

Hi question to ask. I’m buying a laptop but will shortly be moving to switzerland so want to be covered by the guarantee there too. I’ve looked at dell and asus and seen theirs doesn’t extend outside the country of purchase and the only manufacturer I’ve found so far which does is fujitsu.

Anyone have any experience with fujitsu laptops and know of other manufacturers who do this too? Currently looking at buying this one:

Where did you read that the Fujitsu has a european guarantee?

Don't forget Switzerland isn't part of the EU, which sometimes has an effect on these things.

Dell usually offer a worldwide warranty as an upgrade don't they?

    saw this:

In general the geographic scope for warranty service entitlement is global for Lifebook and Stylistic products and Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) for others but you are able to check warranty service capability on country of purchase information

Cool. Fujitsu used to make pretty good laptops - I've no knowledge about what they're like these days.

Hmm, Dell warranties are global at least for machines bought on a business account.

I buy a lot of our Dell equipment centrally in the UK to get better pricing and then just have to fill in a warranty transfer form when the equipment is physically at the final destination.

Depending on which tech support agent you talk to at Dell you can even get around that - last time I was in Sweden the screen on my laptop decided to die so I called Dell Sweden and they sent an engineer out in about 3 hours to replace the panel.

was that on a Home or Business laptop? I think the business warranty is global but if the warranty transfer applies to personal laptops as well would be good, they have some decent deals on at the moment

Fujisu-Siemens are a respectable mfr, and the products are fine, but as burble says, Dell offer global warranty, and you may find that service may be better in Switzerland.

If that is your main concern, your choice may be limited by the service/support arrangements in that country.

Business but thinking about it we did a warranty transfer for a home laptop (an XPS of some sort) that was originally bought by an individual in the US then bought by us and repaired by Dell in the UK.

    Re: Laptop pan european guarantee

Found out HP also offer global guarantee as standard. Think I'm gonna go with the fujitsu as spec is decent for the price
