    Exclamation UPS and Power consumption

    Is there any consumption of electrical power if UPS is left turned on but computer is shut down?If yes,how much per hour for a standard PC?

    My UPS just died so I can't give measurements, but the UPS will require power to maintain the battery charge and keep its controller running. The PC, even though turned off, will still require some power if only to monitor the soft power switch. Machines can also turn on via ethernet packets, TV card timers that see a programme is about to come on that needs recording etc, all that stuff requires a few watts to monitor.

    So yes, but not much.
