Watercooling UK and Chilled PC are two completely seperate businesses, websites and forums.

Also, the 18w will make more sense if you go with the better performing but more restrictive Apogee GTZ. If it is mounted on an anti vibration then it shouldn't make much differencce.

Peter I have just had a thought What happens to the PSU if I put a 4x120 rad in the bottom

EDIT: It fits just fine I think having looked at other images.

The psu sits on its side in a silverstone.
Have a look at the forum
    http://www.watercoolinguk.co.uk/foru...splay.php?f=11
they have some very nice builds with TJ07's

A lot of people use 1x 360 & 1x 240 in these cases (side by side)

    Re: Watercooling pointers

I have just worked out that in my new planned TJ07 build there will be 7 x 120mm fans (2 top 4 rad and 1 intake) as well as 2 x 92mm's. I currently have a 6 channel ZM-MFC1PLUS-BLACK

How can i control the speed of 4 120's on one 'knob' - I take it the Zalman won't have the guts ti run more than 1x120mm per channel. Another option is to have 2 controllers 1 for the 4 rad fans and another for the others. - quite like the idea of one of these:

    http://www.scan.co.uk/Products/Aqua-...5-Bay)-(53035)

Although I have been told they are a little form over function

You could get some splitters to run two fans off one channel

    Re: Watercooling pointers

The specification of your controller says it will run 7 watts per channel.

    http://www.chilledpc.co.uk/shop/prod...roducts_id=275

And depending on the fans you use (can be as little as 0.3 watt each) then you can join a few fans together and run them off the one channel.

    Re: Watercooling pointers

Can you just tell me if I am missing anything on this checklist:

    Swifttech GTZ Cpu Block
Laing DDc 18W Pump or Laing DDc 18w (revision 3.25) ?
XSPC Laing DDC Top with Reservoir
    PA120.4
    Tygon Tubing (4m)

Need to know what coolant is suggessted and also what size pipe/barbs I will need pls - that's the bit thats confused me!!!!

    Re: Watercooling pointers

I have personally used 1/2" fittings
    http://www.chilledpc.co.uk/shop/prod...roducts_id=401

with 7/16 tubing. This is tight to fit but will not come off. It is also a little less trouble to run inside a case than the 1/2" pipe.

    http://www.chilledpc.co.uk/shop/prod...roducts_id=161

The laing DDC revision 3.25 has very little information shown on the web about it. I have used

    http://www.chilledpc.co.uk/shop/prod...roducts_id=181

This pump works extremely well with the XSPC top.

As for the radiator the one you have chosen is one of the best but you have to get some fans.

Also you have to get the correct fittings for the thermochill as it has 3/8 fittings. So if you use these you will not have a problem.

    http://www.chilledpc.co.uk/shop/prod...roducts_id=544

As for coolant. I am using feser one (red) and it is breaking down and blocking up my system. In the next few weeks I am going to strip everything down and replace it with PrimoChill.

    Re: Watercooling pointers

Laing DDC 3.25 is slightly better, but the 3.2 is all that is needed really, not worth any more.

7/16 ID tubing and 1/2 barbs are the best combination, as piggin said.

Primochill coolant is alot better than feser, feser does this -

Or you can run some distilled water with pt nuke, g11 or a lump or coil of pure silver.

    Re: Watercooling pointers

Lots of hot water will wash it away.

As for the Laing DDC 3.25. It gives a slightly higher head pressure but the flow rate is decreased. As Syd is only running his CPU (and possibly his GPU in the future) the 18watt version will do the job.
Also I have read reports that the XSPC top is tight on the 3.25 and the motors have been burning out.

Which of those solutions will require the least maintenance?

And thanks again for all the help

EDIT: If I go for one of these http://www.scan.co.uk/Products/Aqua-...5-Bay)-(53035)
I'm guessing it needs some kind of flow meter in the loop - do you have any recommendations?

    &

Is there any advantage to me going for the: http://www.chilledpc.co.uk/shop/prod...roducts_id=433 Over the XPSC one?

I have not quite got my head round the ads and disads of Tops/resevoirs etc - infact im not sure what is a top??

    Re: Watercooling pointers

What is easiest to maintain? Distilled water and silver
Primochill is probably the best coloured coolant around atm, but it's up to you, you could just run distilled water and coloured hoses for the bling

The EK performs worse than the XSPC afaik, although the difference is minimum, the XSPC is cheaper

A top is a piece that goes ontop of the pump and alters the direction of the water (often from front in, front out, to top in, front out) and increases pressure and head, giving better performance.

For the flow meter, I am 99% sure that this will do the job fine, http://www.chilledpc.co.uk/shop/prod...oducts_id=1214

Just hook it up to the Aquaero, if you're not sure then email tom(at)chilledpc(dot)co(dot)uk and I am sure he will know
