    Question Old PSU, new mobo

Righty-ho, at the expense of sounding like a complete knobber, I currently have the setup as described in my system spec. However, I am upgrading to an Intel "Smackover" DX58SO motherboard x58, i7 Extreme Edition 965 & 3 GiB Corsair tri-channel kit (1333MHz DDR3, 9-9-9-24).

So what I want to know is, is my current PSU (CoolerMaster iGreen 600W) still ok? It's about 3 yrs old now, works fine as far as I can tell, but should I replace it with something better? If so, what?

    Re: Old PSU, new mobo

Fair enough - I thought I'd ask since the Intel board is usually considered the weakest of the i7 boards, but if it was cheap, it'll do the job for stock settings.

    Re: Old PSU, new mobo

Should be fine, but if it's it *shouldn't* kill anything if it struggles
Remember to give it a good cpu&gpu combined stress test, keep an eye on the voltages.
if it's ok then think about overclocking, not before.

Cheers, needing a bit of extra 'powah' to run the latest 3D CAD packages.
