ICY Box Sata Backplane Help Pls

I have just installed an Icy Box Sata Hot swappable backplane:

However I cannot get it to work with most of my hd's I have tried:

original WD360 Raptor
400GB SAMSUNG SATA2 HD403LJ
320GB WD SATA HDD WD3200JD

But it does recognise the 1GB Caviar Black I have just bought. As it is I had to change the jumper setting on the back from 'Access from HD' to 'Access from Host' even though the unit is plugged straight into the mobo.

Any help would be greatly recieved as I bought this to allow me to swap my drives around!!
