I can't believe noone makes custom molex cables etc they seem to do everything else for enthusiasts.

How must of a gap (in mm) is there.
If you look at a 6-pin PCI-E connector its got open round metal connecters... so break apart the plastic block or pull the connecters out of the plastic block back along the wire and connect them up to the card...in the right order.

I believe the connectors are called "Molex mini-fit JR". it does not surprise me custom cables are not available. As the receptacles use crimp terminals which are easier to wire, allowing them to pushed into the housing after connection, something that cannot be done with a right angle connector. The same housing can also have different polarisations. The only other advise I see on the net is to take the connector off the graphics card board and connect directly to the pins left behind, but that does not sound like a good idea to me, I aways believe in "mod the cheapest bit", as you can't get a mod cable, it would be your case next.
