G15 v2. I love it, the LCD apps are really useful.

I have EvEMon and Mumble and since both of them support it works well.

BTW, if anyone needs help gettings the latest GamePanel installed on Windows 7 send me a PM and I'll walk you through it (when I get home, at work right now).

Also got a G11 cheap from staples, love it, but want a lcd screen now. The 3 monitors I'm running just aren't enough these days ;-)

I know the feeling. I just upgraded to a 24" and I am considering plugging my television in as a secondary moniter.

I would totally recommend upgrading to a G15 v2. The most useful thing it is for is removing things like HUD for VoIP (Vent and Mumble are supported, provided you have the latest version of GamePanel) clients, and placing it on the keyboard for you.

Issue? Who said either of those HIDs would cause issues with gaming?

The usual trolls that claim wireless is crap for gaming When the x8 came out the drivers were shocking, since ITP and IP drivers hit version 7 they both work fine and without lag now Only issue I have come across is due to the split keyboard (been using them for years) some keys are just out of reach of the thumb for gaming, but that can be solved with a bit of control tweaking in game

Only real issue the x8 has is when you are using a cloth mouse mat it seems to prefer the harder ratpadz xt I have but it wrecks the feet on the mouse. Good job it comes with three sets

Some wireless keyboards have given me troubles, but I always (and I mean always) use a Wireless mouse. It's easier to move around, and I see no degradation of performance.

But why am I defending you, no one listens to the trolls anyway, right?

It's the same with everything though, enough people say wifi is crap for gaming it gets slagged by the majority without even trying it, those of us on wireless devices know it works just as well as a wired keyboard and mouse. Same happened to Vista though, people slagged it now you have everyone and their granny saying Vista is crap without even using it. Been on Vista for a few years now and not one problem with it, mind I run it on decent gear and not a 10 year old P4 with 512mb that most seem to moan about LOL

Personally I just use whatever is around! I have a variety of keyboards, I doubt I've ever spent as much as £10 on any of them, and I've never had an issue.

Mice - now that's a different matter: but I've commented on that before somwhere...

Most who have tried it and dont like the performance, i have never liked wireless mice or keyboards. I have used a few in the past and theyve all been pretty dire. To say people who dont like wireless are jumping on some band wagon is a bit harsh.

I have tried a range of wireless mice (more mice then keyboards) and theyve all had their fair share of problems but i think things wil change, i would love to try out the new razer wireless mouse, that looks awesome.

And Wi-fi gaming is bad, its not as good as wired.

Vista is bad but i think windows 7 makes up for it.

I use a cheap nasty IBM USB Keyboard mostly. It has a built in USB 1 hub (woo hoo) and has had coke split on it, been disassembled and put through the dishwasher which has not really improved the key response (it works fine but I get a sticky ctrl key sometimes)... I need to buy a new one really but for some reason I can't really decide what to get. I also have a very good PS/2 IBM keyboard with a built in trackpoint / nipple (oo-er missus) - it has proper switches not a membrane but no number pad which drives me mad when I use it so I tend to stick with the much worse USB one... It was £70 back in the day (and was used with a KVM to control several PCs in a rack).

I wanted a new keyboard because ive had this one for a very long time now, since it first came out i think and i just wanted to get a new one which had media keys and lights up. I'll probably keep the G15 v1 and see which one i prefer

Exactly his point! It is not bad. It's just not as good compared to.

Yes, you get slightly lower pings on Cat5 capable than over WiFi, but that doesn't make it bad, because in terms of the complete route the 2 or 3 ms added due to you Wireless is negiable. The bandwidth is more than adquite for most applications, and with draft-n most of these "problems" have been improved. It is not bad. That is like saying that OpenOffice is bad because is takes longer to open XLSX files because it needs to convert it.

And Vista is not bad, it was just inefficent, and not coded very well. In terms of what is was, and what it was designed to do, it achieved that goal. It was not bad, it just did not performance as well as XP. Windows 7 does not fix the problems of Vista, I don't know why people keep saying that, it is a new operating system. Yes, it is just a revised kernel, not a new one, but you wouldn't tell Ubuntu off for not updating Kernels between versions would you?

Way back before my eldest son was born (10 years ago shortly!) we went to PC World (I was young, it was my first Wintel PC) and bought a Packard Bell PC. (It was a P3 450, a week later the 500's were released ) I still use the keyboard that come with that PC. I don't actually like it very much, but I have never been able to decide on a replacement. Many people on here seem to like Saitek so I am thinking one of them later this year. My younger brother has a Logitech G11, and I have a bit of a soft spot for Logitech, but it's a bit large for my PC desk.

I'm still using the same Saitek "Gamers" keyboard I've had sinec it came out, it's starting to get hard to press the keys down though, it's like they don't line up properly or something.

The only real issue I've have had with wireless keyboard or mouse is the very annoying running out of battery charge in the middle of a gameing session.
Depending on the keyboard/mouse some will just cut out and stop responding, some slowly fade becoming more erratic before dieing, which is far far worse.
reduced response times have never been that much of an issue.
