Antec Sonata III - how's the PSU?

For the new PC build I am considering using the Antec Sonata III case - I saw a friend's case and I think it looks good and seems good value with its 500W EarthWatts PSU. However his system is a fair bit older (Athlon X2 3000+, ATI X1950Pro, 2 HDDs).

I think that for what I am planning to do at the moment (Phenom II X3 720, 790GX, ATI 4870, 1 HDD) the 500W PSU should work just fine. But how close to the PSU's limits would I be if I added an HDD or two later? And would the PSU place a ceiling on overclocking?

Antec's 500 watt supplies are generally very decent to be honest with you, and I doubt it would break out in a sweat if you later added a few more hard drives to it later on. I'm currently using an OCZ 500 wat supply which runs a 4850 1 GB card with 1 optical drive and 3 HDD's with out any issue at all

The PSU can effect overclocking, the stability and "cleanness" of the power is what comes into play here.
Adding an additional Hard drive or two later on will add very little to the power load, the two big power consumers are the CPU and graphics card

The Antec earthwatts psu's are solid performers although basic and plane looking.
They used to be made by seasonic although the newer one are made by CWT (I seem to remember)

The PSU from Antec's range I'd avoid is the "Basiq" model range as they tended to be a weak budget psu
