I've looked at some of the Logitech range, specifically the VX Nano which is available online for about £35 with a receiver just slightly larger than the actual usb connector.
Are there any other brands/models I should be looking at?
I've got a bluetooth mouse which works perfectly under OSX but not at all under windows, which is great seeing as its a microsoft mouse.

I was in the same boat and went for the VX Nano, have not regretted it at all. The Mrs was so impressed she bought one as well!

Yeah the VX Nano, I have it for the netbook and I am almost tempted to buy another one for the main PC as it's such a good mouse to use on a ay to day basis

Another vote for the VX Nano, it's a great little mouse, feels nice and comfortable in use and battery life is really good. Haven't come across another mouse with such a small receiver or such good quality of use.
+1 for the nano aswell, great little mouse. I got it for £29.99 from Currys aswell!
edit; Currys seem to have raised the price (almost doubled it..) but its £29.99 from here aswell!

Its still a logitech so will have a bullet proof warranty, god like customer service and will probably be a solid mouse for the price! You cant go wrong with logitech.

Is the Nano the only one out there with a tiny USB reciever? I don't like the dinky little mouse. I'm a bloke with bloke hands.
May I ask why you are having trouble with the BT mouse? Let's not go buy a mouse until we know you actually need one.

Windows sees the mouse, connects to it, but drops the connection after about 30seconds, rinse and repeat.
Windows has always been rubbish with bluetooth though in my opinion.
